Season 2, Episode 5: "The Doctor"

"Not magic. Science."-Dr. Whale/Dr. Frankenstein
Intriguing episode tonight, if a little bit freaky. Definitely different from what I'm used to on OUAT. I apologize in advance if I seem distant with my review, the Broncos game is on at the same time. But football is irrelevant when put up next to tonight's OUAT.

Present Fairytale World
I want to hate Hook, but I can't. Maybe it is how ridiculously sexy he is, or maybe I just can't hate someone with puppy eyes like that. I do not, however, know if I should trust him. He is not exactly a trustworthy guy, being completely driven by his hatred for Rumpelstiltskin.
Emma, Snow, Aurora, and Mulan are being lumped together now because they did nit really do much. Emma's super power is less selective now, I guess, and Snow is still awesome. Aurora was sweet trying to protect Hook, and Mulan was her mysterious self.

Storybrooke:
Oh, Lord I don't even know what to say. Yhis was just so...twisted.
Regina is amazing. Lana Parilla for ALL THE AWARDS! Regina was so broken here, and she is such a messed up character...it's weird. She is a bit like Rumple in the sense that she is clinging to the past. However what is worse is that Regina really did not have a prayer of getting the real Daniel back to her, the way he was before. I am actually hoping this whole experience makes Regina wicked again. I don't want her redeemed. I like her mean!
Dr. Whale has just made the favorite character list because David Anders is perfect. Even though I am going to miss the "WHO ARE YOU!?!?" jokes, it's okay because we got to see Whale being super awesome here. The way he played being so desperate was awesome. I hope we get a lot more of his backstory.
David is being such a Jack Shephard. Calm down, bro.
I wad so scared for Henry! Love his horse. Kid is still adorable. That is all.
Archie deserves some appreciation. Poor guy has probably had an overload of clients.

Past Fairytale World:
This was my favorite part of the episode.
Regina, again, is so broken, and I hate seeing how she became so evil. And, again, LANA FOR ALL THE AWARDS! That scene where she was crying of Daniel's body...just wow.
Jefferson is amazing. Flat out amazing. Though his circle of friends is very questionable. Rumple, Regina, Dr. Frankenstein. He needs to get it together. I 'm assuming this pre-mad-hatter, but he still seems pretty crazy to me. And since Grace was not around, I'm wondering who her mother was. It would make a very interesting story.
Dr. Frankenstein was very cool. I liked what they did with the character, and I am so excited to see more of him, and his monster. It should be very interesting.
Rumpelstiltskin was awesome, as usual. I am not sure how to feel about him planning out Regina's surrender into evil. He wanted her to let go of the past, but that did nit actually happen. Instead, she became angry and vengeful. Was that always his intention? I felt bad for the random girl Regina killed. That was mean.
Lingering Thoughts/Questions/Musings:
-Do you trust Hook?
-I know that Snow and Emma aren't Rum's biggest fans or anything, but I found it weird that when Hook said he wanted revenge on him they were just, "oh. Okay. Well, we don't trust you, but we don't care if you hurt him so I guess we'll untie you."
-Ogres were slower this time
-The lack of Belle was disappointing
-Who do you think Dr. Frankenstien's brother is?
-Is anyone else getting mega-confused by Rumple's timeline?
-The promo!! Yay for Jorge Garcia!! And teen!Emma!! I'm so excited you guys!!!
So, that's all I've got to say. Broncos are winning 31-7; it's been a good night! Questions go in comments or to twitter, @OUAFanBlog

Season 2, Episode 4: The Crocodile

Okay! Where do I even begin...this episode was probably the absolute sexiest of OUAT for me, and I hate myself for watching a bunch of the sneak peeks and promos. I am now officially blacklisting spoiler tags. Anyway, this was just perfection and I am eager to start rambling!
The Fairytale World:
Honestly, I thought both areas of the episode were incredibly interesting. If I had to pick a favorite, maybe I liked Storybrooke a little more but this was also amazing.
Rumpelstiltskin is like the John Locke of OUAT. His life is SO SAD. Between his son, his wife, and Belle...it's ridiculous. The whole thing with Milah...I really do not think he loved her any more than she loved him. He just did not realize it because he had never been in love. If he loved her, he never would have been able to watch her die the way he did. If he loved her, his reaction would have been like Hook's, but it wasn't. What they had was an illusion. It was almost what they needed, but not quite.
Milah is really just stupid. I mean, yeah, she loved Hook, but she should also love her son. Her son should always be the most important thing to her, whether or not she loved Rum. I really do hate her. I understand the true love thing, but she is an idiot. Love the actress though, she was fantastic.
And Hook, can someone turn on the air conditioner because it just got HOT in here! Dang! I am ashamed to admit that Hook distracted me all through the episode, but I regret nothing! I mean, Colin o'Donaghue played Hook amazingly. The character is mean and really not a good person, but...he is like a less broken Rum. Either way, he can tick my tock any day if you know what I mean.
Smee is confusing. I don't know if I should hate him or not.
Storybrooke:
Oh good God so much to say...I'll start with something less painful.
Charming and Ruby both rock. Can we just sit back and love them for a minute. They are so much smarter than Rum and Belle in this relationship. I just love them, they are officially perfect.
Moe is a nutjob. I get that he wants to protect his daughter but that is really not the right path to take. I mean...
Dear Parents:
If you don't like your kid's boyfriend/girlfriend, do not send them through a mine and brainwash them. That is not a good plan. Sincerely,
Robin
All joking aside, that was just messed up. And made me sob, too.
Belle haters are ridiculous. Belle is a strong woman who doesn't let people push her around. If you're going to hate on that, enjoy your crazy juice somewhere else, por favor. Honestly, I love Belle, though the writers seem to enjoy torturing her. She is such a perfect character. She is strong and determined, but she knows what she wants and won't let it get away.
Mr. Gold needed a hug all through this episode. Poor thing had to deal with being lied to by Moe, untrusted by everyone, and being given a heart attack by his true love nearly losing all memories of him. I am sorry, you can call him nuts all you want, but for everything he has been through, he has held up pretty nicely. I just really wish he had not brought magic now! How long must we wait for our Rum/Bae reunion!? *glares at August*
Lingering Thoughts/Questions/Musings:
-Speaking of August, where is that morally challenged wooden man?
-They just live to keep those Rumbelle kisses from us, don't they?
-Do you think everyone in Neverland or wherever will find their way back? Just Emma and Snow? Not Emma and Snow?
-Charming's arms are perfection.
-Rumple/Hook swordfight>Magic Mike
-What'd ya'll think of the episode?
-Regarding the promo for next week: WHAT. ON. EARTH. WAS. THAT.
-Really hoping Rumple can break the "new curse."
-You guys think maybe Bae was the guy in the premiere he got the postcard and now HE will find STORYBROOKE? That was my thought.
Anyway, that's it for my thoughts. This episode made my top 5. Did you guys like? Questions go in comments or to the twitter, @OUAFanBlog. Have a magical week, see you all next Sunday!

Season 2, Episode 3: Lady of the Lake

Awwww that was beautiful. Simply beautiful, which is no less than you expect from this director (also that of "Snow Falls" and "Skin Deep"). I just have so many things to say so lets get right to it.
Storybrooke:
Poor David and Henry seem so lost without Emma and Snow. But at least they are kind of figuring it out. I hope they can manage Storybrooke alright without those strong ladies.
Jefferson and Grace just MELTED MY HEART. I nearly cried when they were reunited it was just so beautiful. I love that Grace still loves her father and that now they can be a family again. This was probably my favorite part of the episode, it was simply amazing.
Present Fairytale World:
I'm pretty sure everyone's reaction to this was "What?", which makes complete sense. So, now I am going to "What?" all over you guys.
So, Mulan and Aurora I really did not like much at first, but they are kind of starting to grow on me. I hope Aurora really can get over herself, and that Mulan can just continue to be calm and cool. The characters have a lot of potential and I hope they are used well.
Snow and Emma had that perfect moment and the end and oh my gosh I wanted to cry. I do not have children, nor am I very attatched to my family, but I think that moment struck a chord with everyone. It was brilliantly done. I loved it.
And now...Cora. Let me just quote tumblr for a minute and say, things Cora is: Evil, manipulative, awful, untrustworthy, etc. things Cora is not: a friend. And it's good that Snow saw that, but bad that Cora turned out to be a shape-shifter. I just hope Snow and Emma can get rid of her somehow because we really don't need her causing more problems. I mean, these characters have enought issues, okay.
Past Fairytale World:
I have done this last because it was my favorite part of the episode. I don't know why, it was just so beautiful and so perfect. I just loves it.
Snow and Charming can get old sometimes, but they always wind up making you love them again. This was a point in the show where the Snowing shipper part of me just, burst out and sang about how lovely they are. I just love them, all the time. Enought said.
Poor Lancelot! He was so good to Snow and Charming (even if he killed Charming's mum a bit indirectly), I was so upset to hear that he died because of Cora. I hope we get more of him somehow *winks and writers*
Charming's mother...oh my gosh. So heartbreaking, how do I even explain...I love that she loved her son enought to die for his happiness. Maybe this is how all mothers are, but it was just so beautiful. I loved it. And she died during their wedding...oh Gods that was beautiful.
Lingering Thoughts/Questions/Musings
-Operation Viper? Scorpion? Henry, you are perfect.
-Regina being redeemed is not really sitting well with me. I love Gina, she is my favorite female character, but I like her evil and I'm waiting for her to become evil again. However, Henry standing her up for lunch was saddening. Poor Gina.
-Usually, episodes without Rumple disappoint me, but this was an exception to that.
-Where did Cora go and when will we be rid of her?
-May we have a King George centric episode just because of reasons? I'm becoming curious about this character.
-Guise. The teddy bear. LOST.
-Is Regina redeemed?
-What is even Charming's name?
-Can you all even wait for next week? Hook and Rumple and Belle and wow...I am so excited it is crazy. I know the writers are aware that the Rumbelle fandom likes to have their emotions battered, but hopefully they will be sort of gentle. Lets not have the return of "The Return" alright?
Questions go in comments or on el twitter, @OUATFanBlog. I am going to watch 666 Park Avenue and ya'll have a lovely week!

Season 2, Episode 2: We Are Both

Good job, ONCE. It's not like I was already crying over the Broncos game or anything. Anyway...Really interesting, slightly insane episode tonight. My emotions are kind of confused. There was just so much going on and there are so many questions. Anyway, let's just get to it, shall we?
The Fairytale World:
No crazy dementors this time around, but we did get some if Cora, which is not much better. I hate that she ruined Regina, who could have been so pure and wonderful had she been given the oppourtunity to live a life with someone she loved. It is sad to think that because Daniel was killed, the person Regina could have been was killed too. Cora ruined her daughter, though she did not want to, and many people died because of it. Now, Regina. I sort of already said everything but whatever. It is so sad to see her still wanting to be good. She hates that her mother is so vicious and she does not want to be that, ever. And I almost feel like she could have been a good person still had it not been for someone else.
Which brings me to Rumpelstiltskin. You guys all know I have a real nice one-sided love affair going on with him, but even I was a little irked with him in this. Now, it has become clear to me that Regina is in fact the baby he wanted, and Cora is the millers daughter. I think he had Regina get rid of her mother for him, for his revenge on her for guessing his name or however she ended up keeping Regina. Now he is all about helping her be magical and whatnot, but obviously, they don't end up being power hungry BFFs in the long run. So what changes between them? I woukd really like to know.
I'm going to add the whole Snow, Emma, Aurora, Mulan, Curse Escapees, and Cora again to this FTL thing. Now, I find it a bit irrational that they just up and capture Snow and Emma before even questioning them, then they throw them into a hole thing in a very LOST-esque fashion. And who is down there? None but Cora. The mild SwanQueen shipper part of me is kind of hoping Emma will kick Cora's arse in Regina's honor, but I also hope Snow and Emma just at least see through her friend BS. Either way, I'm curious.
Storybrooke:
Holy Mary Margaret Mother of Emma where do I even begin...
How about with August. Um...what!? He just up and left? He did not stop to think that maybe someone like Henry or Emma would tell Gepetto where he was? Okay. Whatever toasts your bagel, but that was dumb.
And Charming. If you were a lostie then you must have thought he was going a little Jack Shephard on us here. Wanting to save everyone and fix everything...oh my. He needed to maybe appoint some people to do different things. I don't want him coming up with plans like blowing open hatch doors and climbing onto bomb-infested submarines.
Jefferson, what is wrong with you? No, really. What was he doing? Did it not occur to him that now his daughter knows who he is? Okay, man. Okay.
Mr. Gold made me want to cry in this episode. We can all assume that what he wants is to find his son. Well, that is going to be hard when he cannot leave the town without forgetting everything. I was also a bit disappointed at the lack of Belle. Should she not have been there to comfort him through all that? Shame on you, writers. Either way, I hope Gold can find a way around all of it. We want Bae back just,as much as he does.
It is so obvious that Regina and Henry do love each other, and it is sad that because of their different natures, a healthy mother-son relationship cannot really work between them. Also, it is obvious that Regina is not conpletely redeemed. First off, she kept the book. Secondly, it would be boring if she changed so fast. I know she loves Henry but as she told Rum, she also loves her magic.
Lingering Thoughts and/or Questions:
-"So simple even David Nolan could figure it out" Gold, stop making us love you.
-How is Cora still the same age? Does this give any indication about when everything went down?
-What will happen with Emna and Snow?
-Why do you think Gold wanted to leave so badly?
-Since FTL exists, do you think everyone will want to go back, with perhaps the exception of Gold, perhaps Belle, and maybe Gina?
-What's the deal with August?
-Am I the only one who constantly finds myself wanting to ship Evil Charming?
-How can I build a time machine to nake next Sunday get here faster?
Thanks for listening to me ramble! Questions can be asked in comments or on twitter, @OUAFanBlog. Have a magical week and I will see all you Oncers next Sunday!
